Tenzin Tsenlek

Tenzin was raised in the Tashi Palkhel Tibetan Refugee Camp, 5km outside of Pokhara, Nepal. This space feels quite different than other areas of Nepal. Residents are proudly Tibetan and Buddhism is engrained in their culture. Tenzin Tsenlek embraces this heritage.

Tenzin received her bachelor’s degree from Nepal Tourism and Hotel Management College. Through this process, however, she realized her true calling was in teaching and during the pandemic lockdown, she taught a class of 6 year-old children which affirmed this love. A friend and current teacher at Tergar School Kathmandu shared Mingyur Rinpoche’s vision of academics rooted in Buddhist teachings and Tenzin felt deep inspiration. In turn, she applied for a position and was welcomed into the community in May, 2023. Delighted with the learning environment and well organized curriculum, Tenzin has found a home at Tergar School Kathmandu and her students love her curiosity and eagerness.
