Sofia Pradhan grew up in Kathmandu, where an early experience quietly set the course of her life. As a child, she began tutoring the daughter of a family helper, a girl who attended a government school while Sofia went to a private one. The gap between their studies was striking, and it stayed with her. From that point on, Sofia knew she wanted to do something meaningful to bridge it.

More than a decade later, she has built a teaching career rooted in exactly that commitment. She has worked with students between the ages of 9 and 16, teaching social studies, math, science, and primarily English. Her work has also extended into peace education and teacher training, experiences that have deepened her patience and attentiveness, not just to how children learn, but to how they are.

Sofia believes the heart of good teaching lies in genuine connection and in modeling the right behavior. She is an avid reader and writer, and her greatest desire is to share what she keeps learning with her students. Those who know her well would describe her as open-minded and jolly.
