Lobsang Sherpa
Lobsang Sherpa is from the Himalayan region of Nepal, where he grew up in an environment shaped by education, discipline, and compassion. Watching teachers make meaningful differences in the lives of those around him, he found himself drawn naturally toward the classroom, and especially toward the curiosity and enthusiasm he saw in young children.
He brings several years of experience working across age groups, with a focus on language, moral education, and creative learning. Having worked as a teacher, assistant teacher, and learning coordinator, he has come to believe that education is far more than what lives in a textbook. It builds confidence, character, and the way a child sees the world. His approach is student-centered and participatory, creating spaces where children feel safe to ask questions, think freely, and express themselves with confidence.
Outside the classroom, Lobsang enjoys reading, spending time in nature, and learning about new languages and cultures. His meditation practice is central to who he is, keeping him calm, patient, and present, and helping him connect with students with greater empathy and care. These are the same qualities he hopes to nurture in them: compassion, curiosity, emotional balance, and good human values. It is this vision of education, one that nourishes the whole person, that draws him to Tergar Schools and to Mingyur Rinpoche's teaching that even life's difficulties can become opportunities for growth.
