Lhakpa Dolma Gurung comes from Dho Tarap village in Upper Dolpo, and she carries that mountain upbringing with her into everything she does. At 22, she is stepping into her first professional teaching role with a genuine love for children and a belief that a happy childhood is something worth passing on. Her own memories of growing up are ones she treasures, and she finds joy in encouraging her students to create their own.

Though new to the classroom, Lhakpa is no stranger to guiding young ones, having looked after her younger brothers and sisters from an early age. She is a hiker, a marathon runner, and an all-round sports enthusiast, and her energy and enthusiasm are a natural fit for young learners. She is also an avid reader and speaks multiple languages, which helps her connect with every child she works with.
