Karma Shenden is from the Pemagatshel District in Eastern Bhutan. After the seventh grade he became a monk at Tergar Monastery in Bodhgaya, India and eventually pursued higher Buddhist studies at Tergar Osel Ling in Nepal. In 2020, Rinpoche encouraged Karma Shenden to pursue secular education. 

He is grateful to contribute to Rinpoche’s vision of blending Buddhist wisdom with contemporary educational approaches, allowing students to gain knowledge and skills that can be used to benefit society. As Learning Leader, Karma Shenden applies his personal experience of Buddhist wisdom and education to his teaching to help teachers, staff, and students at Tergar School Kathmandu embrace Mingyur Rinpoche's profound vision.
