Tergar School buzzed with excitement and creativity on August 1, as students proudly showcased their hard work and imagination at the first trimester Learning Exhibition. Held just before the summer break, the event became a vibrant celebration of the knowledge, skills, and values cultivated throughout the past months.
The Learning Exhibition was designed not only as a platform for students to display their academic projects, but also as a way to invite parents, friends, and community members into the learning journey. By opening their classrooms and hearts, the students transformed the school into a lively hub of curiosity and collaboration, offering visitors a glimpse into the spirit of education at Tergar.
The displays were as diverse as the students themselves. From captivating arts and crafts projects to innovative STEAM experiments, interactive games, and engaging oral presentations, each exhibit reflected creativity and dedication. The event began with a dramatic launch of water-pressure rockets, sending cheers through the school grounds and immediately setting a joyful, energetic tone. Later in the day, quieter moments of reflection balanced the excitement, most memorably was the Mindfulness and Meditation Session, led by student Thapse. This unique contribution began with a video of students sharing their favorite meditation practices, before Thapse guided groups of visitors through a short, mindful meditation. For many guests, it was a moving reminder of how deeply mindfulness is woven into everyday life at Tergar School.
Adding to the day’s special atmosphere, Krishna Kunwar, the Chief Education Officer of Nagarjun Municipality, attended the exhibition. Reflecting on his experience, he shared:

Guests from Tergar Ösel Ling Monastery, Tsoknyi Gechak Ling Nunnery, Teach for Nepal, and other community organizations also joined the celebration, along with parents and friends of the students. Their presence underscored the school’s strong ties to both the local community and the wider educational network. One visitor, impressed by the students’ confidence, remarked:
“The young monks are super confident. They are not afraid of anyone and were sharing very clearly on the contents given to them. I am surprised how these young monks are so confident and not shy of new people like us. The exhibition not only showcased what students had learned in class, but also highlighted the values at the heart of Tergar School: confidence, creativity, compassion, and community. Teachers and staff were proud to see their students step forward with courage and joy, sharing their knowledge and talents with such openness.
This first-trimester exhibition built on the success of the school’s March event and marked another important milestone in the educational journey of Tergar students. From the thrill of rockets soaring into the sky to the calm of guided meditation, the day beautifully illustrated the balance of play, reflection, and discovery that defines learning at Tergar.
