At Tergar School Kathmandu, we believe that education is not just about teaching—it’s about learning, sharing, and growing together. Recently, we had the privilege of hosting 12 teachers from Crystal Mountain Primary School in Dolpo, Nepal for a special learning visit. This exchange provided a meaningful opportunity to introduce and share our approach to holistic, experiential education while fostering connections between educators dedicated to nurturing young minds.
A Warm Welcome and an Enriching Exchange
The visiting teachers from Crystal Mountain Primary School travelled from the remote Himalayan region of Dolpo to join us in Kathmandu. Their goal was to observe, learn, and engage with our educational practices, particularly in the areas of mindfulness, curriculum development, and the principles of Basic Goodness. From the moment they arrived, it was clear that this visit would be an inspiring and enriching experience for everyone involved.

Observing Classrooms and Experiencing Our Curriculum
During their time at Tergar School Kathmandu, the teachers had the opportunity to sit in on classes and witness our experiential learning approach in action. They observed how our curriculum integrates awareness, love, compassion, wisdom, and joy, creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment for students.
Our team also facilitated interactive sessions, where we shared insights into our teaching methodologies and discussed how they can be applied in different school settings. The Crystal Mountain Primary School teachers actively participated, asking thoughtful questions and engaging in discussions about how they could incorporate these practices into their own classrooms.
Exploring Mindfulness and Basic Goodness in Education
One of the key highlights of the visit was our meditation and Basic Goodness sessions. At Tergar Schools, we place a strong emphasis on developing not just intellectual skills, but also emotional and social intelligence. We introduced the visiting teachers to techniques that can help students cultivate self-awareness, emotional regulation, and kindness—practices that are essential for fostering a supportive and positive learning environment.
These sessions provided a space for reflection, exchange, and the exploration of how mindful awareness can be seamlessly integrated into daily classroom activities. The teachers from Crystal Mountain shared their own experiences and challenges, creating a rich dialogue that allowed for mutual learning.

Strengthening Bonds and Looking Ahead
Beyond the structured sessions, this visit was also a beautiful opportunity to build relationships between educators from different regions of Nepal. Despite coming from diverse backgrounds, we found common ground in our commitment to nurturing the next generation of learners with a sense of purpose, kindness, and curiosity.
As we said our goodbyes, we reflected on the importance of these kinds of exchanges—not only for professional development but also for strengthening the larger community of mindful, compassionate educators. We look forward to continuing this journey of collaboration, supporting each other in our shared mission of transformative education.
A Heartfelt Thank You
We extend our gratitude to the wonderful teachers from Crystal Mountain Primary School for their enthusiasm, openness, and dedication to their students. It was an honor to share our practices, and we look forward to more opportunities to learn and grow together in the future.
Here’s to more meaningful exchanges, deep connections, and a future where education continues to inspire and uplift!
